Trading Update – Mon 14th July

Very quiet market conditions.  Volumes are down across the board.  Movements in the FX pairs have been muted throughout the London session, other than for some EUR strengthening very early on.  On the whole, as most people know, Mondays and Fridays tend to be quieter than Tue-Thu.  And July and August tend to be slower than all the other calendar months of the year. Thus it requires one to be patient and not to be edging to get into trades.

I took two short trades on CADJPY, both times entering on the basis of the 1M chart trying to get in on early on a 15M crossover.  Both trades were closed for a partial loss, leading to a loss of 0.82R for the day.

Left the trading office at 1.30pm already, to spend some time watching the Tour de France, and to make some further headway with my trading visualizations.

Hopefully the markets will be a bit more alive on Tuesday morning.
